2 Sexual Assaults In 2 Days Results In Philly Man's Arrest: Police

A Philadelphia man was arrested after he committed two sexual assaults in two days, police said on Monday, Nov. 18.

Abdul Ford, 22, of the 1300 block of South 22nd Street, was charged for sexually assaulting one victim on Sunday, Nov. 17 and another on Monday, Nov. 18, according to a Philadelphia Police Department news release.

On Sunday, Ford allegedly grabbed the victim from behind as they were walking in the 1600 block of Point Breeze Avenue at 10:50 p.m., police said. He then sexually assaulted the victim, who eventually managed to flee.

The following day, police said Ford grabbed and sexually assaulted another victim, this time in the 2000 block of Wharton Street at 1:30 a.m., according to the news release. This victim also managed to flee, but Ford took their phone.

Police were able to track the second victim's phone to the 1300 block of South 22nd Street, where Ford was arrested, the news release states.

Ford was charged with Sexual Assault and related charges for the first incident and Sexual Assault and Robbery for the second incident, according to police.

Court records for the current offense were not available at press time. 

Past records show that Ford faced Criminal Mischief, Indecent Assault, and Criminal Trespass charges for three separate incidents that took place in July 2023. He also pleaded guilty to Disorderly Conduct and Possession with Intent to Deliver charges for two separate incidents in Lycoming County in 2020, according to court documents.
